Jill Herz
Principal
Since 1993, Jill has represented thousands of people injured or killed as the result of the negligence of others. Running a boutique firm, Jill is personally involved in each of her clients’ cases. For the first thirty years of her practice, Jill took every deposition, picked every jury, and tried every case herself, and now shares her practice with the next generation of Herz lawyers.
Harry Herz
Attorney
Joining the firm in 2023, Harry comes from experience clerking for judges in Texas Civil District Court and in the Oklahoma Civil Court of Appeals. With litigation in his DNA, Harry competed on the Mock Trial Team at the University of Tulsa School of Law, and served indigent members of the public in a free legal clinic. Before law school, Harry obtained his Bachelors in Government at the University of Texas at Austin, and worked analyzing bills at a legislative consulting firm in the shadow of the state capitol.
Paul Herz
Attorney
After obtaining a Bachelors in Engineering for Computer Science, Cybersecurity at Southern Methodist University in 2018, Paul worked in cybersecurity consulting and was a GIAC-Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) at Stroz Friedberg, investigating sophisticated cyber attacks and breaches. In 2020, Paul returned to SMU to study law. There, Paul was a member and then chief counsel in the litigation-heavy SMU Civil-Consumer Clinic, practicing as an Associate Member of the State Bar, and providing pro bono services to the people of Dallas-Fort Worth. Paul joined the firm as a full-time licensed attorney in 2023, where he assists clients in English and Spanish.

Frequently asked questions
Many of our first-time clients have plenty of questions about working with a lawyer. We can answer those and more.
How much will it cost?
Nothing unless and until we get you money—so getting you as much as possible, as early as possible is in everyone’s interest. We work on a contingency fee basis, which means our fee is always a percentage of your settlement or verdict, and our fees have not changed in 30 years. While time is important, we will never settle your case prematurely or without your permission. We always put your interests ahead of our fee.
How long will it take?
Typically, 6–18 months, depending on the nature and extent of your injuries or damages. While you receive medical treatment—and we can help with this too—we get to work establishing liability and collectibility. We only make a demand and negotiate with the responsible insurance company once we both understand your injuries or damages and your personal road to recovery. Unfair settlement offers are never tolerated and lawsuits are quickly filed.
How much will I get?
The short answer: it depends (on liability, damages, and collectibility). Ultimately, however, your case is worth as much as we can persuade the defense to pay or a jury to award. Those are the options. And our track record for doing both is impressive. Our smaller cases typically settle for tens of thousands of dollars and our larger cases typically settle for hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.* Our only promise is to outwork everyone.
